I'm new to Carménère, at least Carménère advertised as such. It's an old French varietal transplanted to Chile and now pretty much Chile's own. This is a blend adding in Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Smokey aroma with charred tannins and burnt berry flavors. It took me a couple of days to effectively taste this wine. It's hard to place. Charred tannins and coppery afterglow. Close...?
